OPENING RECEPTION AND PANEL DISCUSSION CARIBBEAN AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH
Learn about the programs sponsored by the Central Library and Auburn Avenue Research Library for National Caribbean American Heritage Month, and participate in a panel discussion on the topic, ‘Caribbean Unity: Is It a Dead Ideology’?
Find out about the Caribbean Film Festival, Anancy Festival, Caribbean Spelling Bee, Caribbean Writers’ Series, Caribbean Genealogy Workshop and an Exhibition of Visual Arts by Caribbean Artists. Panelists for the discussion are Dr. Ivelaw Griffith, President of Fort Valley State University, Patricia Henry, Atlanta Caribbean Carnival Bandleaders Association, and Dr. Kelwin Thomas, Morehouse School of Medicine. The moderator will be Valrie Walker-Sanders. Light refreshments will be served. This program is also presented by the British Virgin Islands Heritage Caribbean Group.
